A few simple habits that help keep deals on VarsityHub safer.
Meet in public campus locations
Arrange to meet at a library, student centre, or another busy, well-lit spot on campus, never a private residence or somewhere isolated.
Check the item before you pay
Inspect the item in person and make sure it matches the listing before handing over any money. Don't pay a deposit or the full amount upfront based on photos alone.
VarsityHub doesn't handle payments
All payment and delivery is arranged directly between you and the other student over WhatsApp. We never ask for payment on behalf of a seller, treat any such request as a scam.
Keep the conversation on WhatsApp
Keep a record of your chat with the buyer or seller. If something goes wrong, having the conversation saved makes it much easier to sort out or report.
Trust your instincts, and report it
If a deal feels off, pressure to pay immediately, prices that seem too good to be true, or a seller who won't meet in person, walk away and use the Report button on the listing or profile.
